Opportunity
We are looking for an innovative VP of Sales with a proven background in consultative selling of new products, systems, and solutions to electric utilities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in utility sales, engaging with both department leaders and C-level executives, preferably in utility automation solutions.
The VP of Business Development is responsible for co-developing the design, implementation, and continual improvement of the Company's market offerings and growth strategy. This individual will also be expected to participate in the high-level strategic planning with senior leadership while attending to the day-to-day execution of that plan. Initially a player-coach role, the VP is responsible for attaining or exceeding an annual revenue bookings target for themself and their team. Success in this high visibility role will garner additional responsibility and investment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead the development of an overall utility sales strategy, including sales targets, product pricing and positioning strategy in the marketplace
- Co-develop the Company's go-to-market plan to achieve company goals and revenue targets.
- Develop a channel strategy for different utility segments
- Develop new pipeline of opportunities for Recurve’s offerings
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities and market segments for Recurve’s offerings, in support of the Company's plan, providing feedback and support as we adapt and adjust our offerings and positioning.
- Drive rigorous sales execution and oversight against revenue targets
- Oversee the hiring and development of the sales organization
- Develop annual sales plans, set quota and ensure the success of the sales team
- Monitor market and competitive landscape, and communicate with the rest of the leadership team
- Manage overall sales process/pipeline, including compensation, training and sales incentive programs
- Maintain key customer relationships at existing utility and commercial customers
- Represent Recurve in local, regional, and national trade shows, working groups, and seminars
Minimum Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in a player-coach executive role, with a background in services, SaaS, and/or new technology solutions for electric utilities
- Experience working with utilities (utility automation solutions selling preferred), demand response and energy efficiency
- Demonstrated success in all facets of sales, including territory planning, client prospecting, proposal creation, engagement management, and closing deals.
- Self-motivated individual with a high degree of emotional intelligence and competitiveness
- High sense of urgency for customer satisfaction
- Provide feedback and support as we adapt and adjust our offerings and positioning.
- Exceptional ability to craft a vision aligned with business requirements and value propositions.
- Very strong collaborative, negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Must be a US Citizen, Green Card Holder or Permanent Resident
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience
- Ability to thrive in a fully remote work-from-home capacity.
