Opportunity
The Account Executive is responsible for sourcing, developing, and closing enterprise-level opportunities, leveraging our solutions to address customer business challenges. As key revenue drivers for the company, Account Executives are expected to achieve established sales quotas. This is a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary role. The following job description outlines the typical functions of this role but is not an exhaustive list of all potential responsibilities, tasks, or duties. Primary Responsibilities
- Proactively identify and source new business opportunities with utility customers and partners.
- Leverage your network within Investor-Owned Utilities (IOUs), Municipal Utilities, and Co-ops to accelerate engagement, build a robust pipeline, and shorten sales cycles.
- Drive revenue growth at current utility accounts while achieving annual sales quotas, consistently qualifying new opportunities.
- Work closely with channel partners and the partnership team to build strategic relationships that drive innovative sales opportunities.
- Collaborate with DER providers and other key stakeholders in the energy and demand-side management industries.
- Build and nurture relationships with managers, directors, and executives at electric and gas utilities, particularly in EE, DR, and VPP sectors.
- Lead account teams and work closely with Recurve leadership to identify expansion opportunities while ensuring client satisfaction and health.
- Master and communicate Recurve’s value-driven and innovative approach to the energy industry.
- Respond to and support solution development for RFIs, RFPs, and similar initiatives.
- Manage opportunities from contract negotiation to closure, collaborating with Recurve and client legal teams.
- Embody Recurve’s Core Values, contributing positively to the company culture.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in strategic market development or utility sales roles, preferably within the energy or climate tech space.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated track record in energy markets and utilities, preferably in demand-side management, distributed energy resources, and energy efficiency.
- Strong understanding of the industry including the energy landscape, with a focus on electric utilities.
- Strong presentation skills and comfortability communicating technical aspects
- Demonstrate confidence and take initiative in challenging the status quo while fostering relationships with new potential clients. An inquisitive mindset focused on identifying customer needs, key stakeholders, and identifying potential roadblocks early.
- Technical curiosity that will allow you to thrive in a cross-functional role and serve as a thought leader and early solutions consultant to clients.
- Experience with CRMs, PowerPoint, and Excel.
